Partnering With The Provincial Government On First Nations Entrepreneurial Training
We are proud to announce that we gained a wonderful opportunity to work with the B.C. provincial government on delivering valuable business education to the Squamish Nation; and introducing our entrepreneur training program to three new nations: Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Kwikwetlem First Nations.
With over 200 budding and existing entrepreneurs, Activ8 rolled-out courses that helped to guide peoples' passions leading to more self employment and business growth for local aboriginal businesses.
The training focuses on helping people identify and capitalize on their strengths and gain a positive outlook on their business idea, understand marketing fundamentals on how to interact with customers to encourage sales and customer loyalty, and developing their own websites to showcase their businesses.
Over a 6 week period we rolled out four introductory courses for each nation in business confidence, marketing, social media and web template development to further business knowledge and deliver critical communication skills that entrepreneurs need to thrive.
It was a fantastic experience seeing people show up for the workshops on their own time to learn, grow and advance themselves professionally and personally.
You can read more about the training grant and our government's mandate in their news release "Supporting Lower Mainland First Nation Entrepreneurs."
